Howard
Green Jr., Chicagos hottest new soulful R&B artist, embodies
all the characteristics of a true artist with a gift that allows him to
sing, write and produce from the soul. His performances are infectious,
and his style takes you back to the days when music came from the heart.
He makes you feel him , sings from deep inside, powerful & moving are a few of the phrases being used to describe Howards extraordinary voice. Howards sound is being described as classically soulful, sprinkled with an urban ingenuity. His hot new single, The Chicken Joint, is quickly gaining local momentum, and he continues to dazzle and amaze audiences with performances of his original material as well as renditions of well known ballads by such soul music legends as Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, and Donny Hathaway. Howards vast vocal range and ability brings crowds to their feet with its strength, and ladies to their knees with its emotion. I want my music to transcend time says the accomplished artist, I want to touch people from all walks of life. Like many R&B artists, Howards musical development is a result of the mellow music of the 70s and 80s, the soulful spiritual offerings of the Baptist Church and the hot new sound of the Neo-Soul movement. I actually loved playing the drums at Church, but, most Sundays the Choir director would ask me to sing, remembers Howard. He studied classical music in high school, competing for and winning many awards for vocal performances in Chorale and with the high school gospel choir. Howard continues to perform in the Chicago area, and shares his talents with other artists, writers, and producers. He recently made his television debut on the popular talent showcase/competition Showtime in Harlem, (formerly the legendary Showtime at the Apollo), and has been selected as one of 25 finalists on Ch. 5, NBCs new talent competition Gimme The Mic. Howard has also done several promotional songs for the Windy Citys hottest new radio personality Chris Michaels. I want people to feel something when I sing explains the singer, I want them to experience all the elements of life that we all ultimately deal with; Love, Pain, Betrayal, Joy, Excitement, Fear, Life and Death , all of the feelings and emotions that connect us all as people. Howard is poised to burst onto the R&B scene with a voice that reaches in and embraces the spirit. He definitely has something to say, and a God-given ability to deliver his message directly to your Soul. |
